“Today it’s important to be present, be relevant and add value.”
–Nick Besbeas, former CMO of LinkedIn
Having spent over 25 years’ in the marketing industry at agencies and in corporate roles, I decided to ‘go it alone’ in 2018 with my own marketing consultancy aimed at small businesses to help them understand the fundamentals of marketing and develop effective marketing strategies, plans and activities designed for growth.
Crucial to growth is building good and productive business relationships and are key factors of any marketing plan. It is always a nice feeling when speaking to another business owner who has an issue and you can say: “I know someone who can help you with that!” That one phrase can start a great business relationship and result in one business ‘feeding’ another with good referrals on a regular basis.
I have proved the point himself by taking time to build trust in my business relationships with other business owners, regularly giving and receiving referrals … and making some good friends along the way.
Experience & Knowledge
During my 25+ years’ I’ve been lucky to have worked for some great marketing agencies like McCann Erickson, and some great companies such as Chrysler UK with the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands (as part of Daimler Chrysler, then from 2010 merging with Fiat to become Fiat Chrysler Automobiles(FCA)) learning my marketing trade. I’ve met and worked with some great people too … along with some fantastic clients, sponsor partners and suppliers, however I’ve always been enthralled by succeeding with marketing at a local level and much of my work was done with dealer/retailer networks.
Back to now, and my introduction to Asentiv came via workshops and training sessions with Jacky Sherman who added a missing piece to my business ‘jigsaw’ … referral marketing! Something I thought I understood, but had no clue on how to build it up in a structured way to increase the opportunity for success.
I have seen great success with many collaborative marketing campaigns over the years and now look to help build collaborative business communities and opportunities through my marketing consultancy and Asentiv UK.
Andy … the Author
I write marketing related blogs and posts regularly, mainly on LinkedIn and my consultancy website, however I have made my first excursion into the world of books by contributing a chapter on marketing strategy in ‘The Small Business Toolkit’ published in 2020 alongside many others notable business owners and of course owner of The Business Community, Paul Green.
Andy … The ‘Coach’
If it’s marketing then I can help ‘coach’ you through the marketing maze we have to deal with these days. With so many routes to market, how can any business owner have time to work out and indeed understand which is the right marketing route for their target market without some expert help?
Part of my approach is to ensure clients understand the power of referral marketing alongside other marketing options.
